2 Fortunes

One of my dear co-workers treated me to lunch today! Chinese :) I got veggies. Yummilicious, as one might (or might not for that matter) say... and here were the fortunes. They made me laugh:

"Playing safe is only playing"

and

"No man is a failure who is enjoying life."

And what on EARTH do they mean, anyway?! Ha. I don't even think they make sense.
Any "translations" or "interpretations"* for us?
